went to a customers house the other day to look at some black oil based stains he wanted removed. On the surface, it was a sticky yucky mess..and in other parts, there apeared to be engine grease...and then there was big dog urine patches too!  I havnt come across these things yet, and this is a first, and as a prochem user, was wondering if anyone had any ideas on the best ways to approach this. I was going to use the urine nuetraliser, on the wee, followed by acid rinse etc..but the sticky mass..was going to scrape, and use solval..followed by a rinse...anypne got any good ideas..It's important that i do a good job on this carpet, as he is the key to a lot of future work.

Scott,

That is the right approach to removing engine oil.

I would use white spirit on a towell , rub gently into the oil and then extract with hot water with something like Double Clean in tank.

It is better to repeat this several times over than to pour lots of solvent onto the marks .

If there are any carbon deposits left Ultrapac Renovate may assist in removing them.

cheers doug...yes, I put it down to drinking a bottle of red rx  a day ! keeps me going   I'm 39 really...must have been a clerical error...someone said that cellulose thinners was better than white spirit..don't know what your thoughts are on that...scott
