Newly Canvassed Work
« on: July 28, 2009, 12:36:26 pm »
Hey
I got a phone call this morning off a window cleaner i know in widnes-He said hes got a newly canavassed round if i want it because he canvassed it before he realised he was taking on too much work.....
My plan is to rent it tomy ex employee but the trouble is how much is it worth while being newly canavassed
Its monthly work with a turnover of 240 a month

the work is compact and i know the guy so i know its genuine ... How much would you pay for it ?

Judging by some of the rates in your previous posts, why not try and charge him £480 per month!

for someone who was trying to sell a very large round last month you seem to be a bit of a numpty at the game

Personally I would offer to work the first clean with him and split 50/50. you can then work out how long it would take one person, see if it really is good work and taike it from there.

I know what your saying but iv never bought newly canvassed work before-The other times ive canvassed it myself id work it but will be renting it to my ex worker so my question is would you purchase it at 5x monthly cleans or is it worth less?

As the seller is a very good friend i still dont want to give him more than i have too but im considering offering him 2x turnover for it as he hasnt set a price but i wanted your views first

you get 5x for established work ,if its never been cleaned you could lose some as people have changed there mind ,id offer him the price of the work to be paid after 1st clean and see how many have you

why don't you just give him your previous workers number and let him contact him direct and let them thrash out a deal

We are in a recession so a few quid here and there add up so i want to buy it - rent it out - then eventually sell it

For someoe only a few months ago wanting to sell your round for 10 times, to try and get this newly canvassed work for 2 times, alarm bells ringing to me!!!! You were selling your round with the option of having newly canvassed work 2 months ago, and now you are trying to go about it another way just to get your original round sold bcause obviously you still are trying to get rid of it!!!

I have one round left which i saved and promised to rent to my ex worker. Im only buying this work to sell to him eventually when hes ready to purchase it - in the meantime il rent it to him for the going rate plus as he is kind of family and as he has first refusal on any work that is for sale. Therefore Mark i have no interest in trying to sell my work to any other parties
The newly canvassed work i was adding to the rounds when they where for sale was work id previously canvassed myself and worked for 3 months. The round im thinking of purchasing has been canvassed and NEVER been cleaned so there is a difference

if it was work for me id snatch it and take the risk but the chances of a return on the purchase when im renting it out is going to be long term especially if they all cancel. When you buy a round the quality of the work isnt the issue its the customers. In this case no one knows anything about them ie if there loyal or if there after one clean etc then cancelling. Theres a difference like i said between new work that has been worked and work that hasnt.
My gut feeling until i meet them is to forget about it but im always interested in making money on anything
