O2 - Almost no national signal now!!
« on: July 27, 2009, 06:24:37 pm »
How can a mobile network provider who always had the best reputation for network coverage fail so catastrophically within the space of 1yr.
The amount of work I have lost because of this set of clowns is unbelievable. They understand the issue and are unwilling to rectify the problem. It’s all cost cutting.

An Orange contract mobile is on the way as I type.
A yogurt pot and a piece of string is better than O2.

Must admit I'm looking to change from o2 next time my contract comes around.  I sometimes lose all signal at home, where it used to be 100% all day long.  Very annoying and obviously where I notice it most.

The other thing, and this is what p's me off the most, is that the bloody voicemail doesn't ring you back sometimes... I've found messages on there that I didn't know existed and lost work due to it >:(

Been with vodafone for nearly 20 years with the same number, had a few ups and downs but one thing I can't complain about is the coverage.

Some years back I had a very annoying should that be interesting conversation with the operators at vodaphone because of the lack of coverage where ever I happened to be. Her answer was that they covered 98% of the population. Now that's being very clever.....not 98% of the geographical area of Britain but 98% of the population. >:(
This is all very well if you're in a major town/city but of zero usage if you are between the places.
The bottom line is, do you think any of these mobile phone companies give a toss any more. Vertually everyone has a mobile  now, so they don't need to sell themselves anymore with better service.

Neil that is so true, when I got my first Brick I mean mobile 15 years ago the reception was clearer and I never got cut off half way through a call, albeit £1 a minute rounded up to the next minute also.

Derek, yes it was Cellnet, and before that it was Securicor, opps, showing my age.

My brother worked in telecoms most of his life, before the Brick went on sale, they tested it by running over it with a car. It still worked.

My other brother was once standing in a queue for the waltzer with his young daughter on may day about 7 year ago when a mobile shot out of a girls hand bag on the ride, hit him square on the nose and knocked him out. worst was the call wasnt for him  ;D
