Extra staff

Hi guys
We have been given the cleaning of 7 schools in the Surrey area at the end of August. This is already a busy time for us with EOT Cleaning, so we need to increase our staffing levels to cope with the extra work. My initially thoughts are to approach the local job centre for the extra work force. Has anybody used this route to obtain staff or has anybody used other methods for getting temporary staff.
Many thanks
Karl

if its temp staff, the local paper in that area is a good start, but you could get anyone.
Many years ago when i was on the building i went to the JC for labourers, even back then they wanted to know the ins and outs of everything.

Hi Karl
I used the local job centre to source some staff recently for our student eot cleans but the best by far were friends and family of my current team.
I had an extra 18 staff, 5 from the job centre and the rest recommended to me by my team and/or each other. 3 of the job centre ones were brilliant, 2 I had to lay off after a day because they were so rubbish, but 11 of the 13 other staff were great, so ask around as you never know who might be after a temporary job at this time of the year and don't discount students, I had several working for me this summer and they worked their socks off!
Best of luck
Diane

Hi Diane,
Thank you for your comments. We too are busy with Eot student lets but need extra staff to cover the builders clean on the schools. I will take you advice on board and ask existing staff if they have any family members or friends looking for work .
Thanks
Karl

Hi Karl
We do the student treats also, same as you going to get very busy for the next 2 months, are you being asked to drop your prices or are you already doing a per man hourly rate?
Regards
Martin
