Hi,

i have always used Vikan Brushes, but now i am going to purchase a dual trim from Alex etc.

Does anyone use both of  the superlights?

flocked dual trim and unflocked,

I think i want one for extra scrubbing if needed as sometimes its hard to get off stubborn marks with the vikan,

Any recomendations guys?

flocked for extra scrub on first cleans etc for my own use and DT for every day use.

are the flocked dual trim as well?....as it  says only .unflocked have a inner layer of extra bristes.

The dual trim is a great brush and use this for everyday use, but on really bad first cleans i pop my old vikan back on.

I use the vikan all the time, so maybe i dont need to change, as i thought the superlight dual would be better for first cleans....extra scrubbing power etc etc.

For cleaning power the flocked Super-Lite is an excellent brush.  I tend to use this now for everything including first cleans.  Although the bristles are slightly softer than the mono-filament, because of their splay I find them very effective in covering all of the glass.  Out of the three Super-Lite brushes technically the single trim will scrub the hardest but I never find I need it as the flocked does the job.

Gazzap what you will notice is the ease the extra lightness will give you in the arms and shoulders...don't get me wrong the Vikan brushes are bullet proof and do an excellent job but they do weigh alot in comparision.

I think I have pretty much all the SL brush designs and I have yet to fault them..

flocked for 1st cleans and then a dual trim non flocked for day to day cleaning whilst rinsing on the glass....do you arms/shoulder a favour and try one of these brushes out.

When these brushes first came out some people said they would'nt last...mine are as good as the day I first got them...

I do both. Ground and first rinse off, above that I tend to use a hybrid method of angling the brush on one edge to rinse. When I'm really lazy I rinse full-on and it always seems fine.

So Alex,... i know this may prompt an obvious answer, but for ease of scrubbing, the vikan is rock solid... so in your opinion, is it just the weight here....and are the vikans as good as the super lights.?

The reason that I stopped using Vikan brushes was because of weight. Low weight is key to an effective clean as you are more in control. Personally I find that the flocked Super-Lite will out-clean a standard Vikan every time, probably because there is more control with less effort.

This is only my opinion and I am probably not the best person to ask, but I will never use Vikans again (or any other heavy brush). They cannot be as good as a lighter brush as they influence your working day as much as a heavy pole. I have developed the Super-Lite brushes to suit me and my preferences, which they do very well. This does not mean that they will suit everyone.

I use a flocked dt for everything inc 1st cleans and upvc etc.Once you use it you could never go back to a Vikan brush. As i've said before,put your Vikan brush on a broom hanble and use it for sweeping the patio.
