CAN ANYBODY TELL ME WHAT THEY THINK ABOUT  THE SPIK AND SPAN ADVERTISING SITE. HAVE MANY OF YOU HAD ANY RESPONCE FROM THEM  ?
 ON THE FREE AD  ?  OR THE PAYED VERSION ?
I HAD IT FOR THREE MONTHS AND GOT NAFF ALL, SO I JUST TOOK IT OFF.
HAVE ANY OF YOU HAD ANY LUCK,? IF YOU DID WHAT DID YOU GET OUT OF IT ?

I'm listed on lots of these free sites, including Window Cleaner Directory (Window Cleaning Resources) and I've never had a single enquiry from them - we always ask how the enquirer found us - the only advertising I would pay for is Yellow Pages, Thompson's, local church magazines (not the door-to-door type of thing) and our van signwriting.

I get all sorts of people ringing me up and promising to get me onto the first page of Google.  I tell them: "Put 'Window Cleaner Sittingbourne' into Google and see what comes up"

I paid for 3 months on S & S before reverting to a freebie.  I got one enquiry.  They wanted a one off.  There was very poor access but I quoted anyway.  Never heard any more about it.

I've been on yell.com for about 3 months and had one job from it worth £10 still £130 a year I wouldn't have had I guess though

I've temporarily scrapped all my paid advertising.  Still got 3 months paymentrs to make to Yell for a web ad but I won't be renewing.  I have had some decent jobs from ads but I've had a lot of wild goose chases too.  Although such advertising is OK from a credibility angle when seeking largish commercial jobs,
I'm happy with mostly domestic with a few of the commercials sprinkled in for when I want to work out of hours and make some extra.

I've advertised on all free search engines and free ads sites and got alot of business from it.
So if a customer puts in ( contract cleaning for Darlington) I'm on the first page, this is all done by the power of free advertising. I've been told that people pay alot of money to get onto the no1 page of google and msn and get bugger all so why pay a company £££'s for some thing you can do for free. All's you need to do is spend an hour a day putting your details onto the free ad sites and into free search engines

After search the internet for a website that can give me names, addresses, e-mail addresses of key decision makers, people of influence and business bosses in the North East I came across a site : http://whoswho.icnortheast.co.uk/default.aspx . In the search on the page I just put in a town I want and hey presto all that I wanted came up.
I e-mail over 30 bosses and got quite a few responses.
