this is a follow up from my last post,,,,,As I looked at what the was supposed to vinyl but it is  pale blue in which had loads of black marks all over mostly from chair legs, looked to me as it was ash felt under the blue colour, she just wants it cleaning, has any one got any ideas what it may be and what to use, regards terry

got to admit couldnt stop laughing at your reply shaun,

suggest a detegent mild bucket mixed with cloth maybe towel white test wet tranfer the dirt on cloth , could be idea maybe ;)

You just need to read between the lines Shaun.   Terry has got to clean a dirty vinyl floor.
Low speed rotary, green pad, hard floor cleaning solution, wet/dry pick up.  If in the mood follow up with neutralising rinse.

At a guess Terry, are you trying to say that you suspect the flooring is "mastic ashphalt"??     That normally comes in red or black as standard although special paints can be applied to give other colours.
For mastic ashphalt the cleaning process is no different than vinyl. Just wash down well with water at the end & don't use any solvents
