need help asap for commercial contract tomorrow
« on: July 12, 2009, 12:34:09 pm »
hi all, i had a meeting with a company on wednesday about cleaning their offices, luckily they liked that i am young and believed i would do a better job then the cheaper chaps so went with me even though i was more expensive :)

only problem now is that they have emailed me to say they want me to come in tomorrow and get the keys/sign contract and then start that night. unfortunately being my first commercial clean i have never done a contract before and need one!

how do i go about getting one? anyone got a simple example of a contract that i could then alter to make sense for the office?

thanks

hi there

first of all i would ask a question, why the need to start so soon???

you need to get the client to sign an acceptance to your quote and specification, inline with the terms and conditions that you have applied to the job.

if you havent done this then you need to outline , contract duration, invoice and payment terms, grievance procedures, termination procedures. etc.

regards

Hi If you do not have a written contract just do as Martin has said above.

Just out line terms, Payment, cancelation procedures, and include a cleaning specification schedule as well. That way they cant add things at a later date without you not asking for more time, expense etc.

Keep it simple keep the jargon simple so they can understand it.

they need us to start soon as they have just moved into the office and haven't had any cleaners yet so got the quotes last week from various companies and decided on us starting this monday (tomorrow)

i really have no clue where to start with the acceptance of our quote and the rest. do i just write we will be cleaning this and that daily, this and that weekly, this and that monthly, for this price etc?

anyone got an example of a simple contract?

hi there

thats great news, andnot wishing to criticise at all, but to offer constuctive advise to people in general,

please make sure that when you present to commercial clients that you are fully prepared, ie terms and conditions, and also the payment criteria that you require, you will feel so much better when you  present and meet propspective clients, and it also sends a vey strong message to the clients that you are ready to deal with them.

now turning to the matter in hand

a copy of your spec, a brief acceptance form, detailing the cost, and then some terms and conditions.

good luck !!

just as important though, in the meeting make sure you control the meeting, and write and agends prior to the meeting pourely for guidance, even if you dont know everything, give the perception that you do.

regards

martin

i made the website myself  8) took a little while but it has been worth it as compared to competition we are miles better then them.

we hardly ever get asked to iron, and so far it has always been in the persons house whilst we clean. it actually costs us money at the moment but it does mean customers who want both can go with us, where as if we didn't offer it then they'd have to go with competition
