If and when I add another 100gpd....
« on: July 02, 2009, 09:43:16 pm »
........can I assume it will automatically double my pure water supply. My "little system" is currently generating 200 litres in 9 hours, so I leave it overnight and fill up in the morning. Looking to get a bigger van and fit a tank (rather than transporting 25litre containers everywhere), so if I upgrade the present system with another 100gpd, can I assume I will produce 400 litres in 9 hours ???    (I know, I know, you can't assume anything....lol)

thanks Fieldsy
If Carlsberg made window cleaners....I'd be one of them....lol

I went from 200gpd to 300gpd and yes it does give you approx the same ratio extra. (+50%) in my case.
It's a game of three halves!

A bit to add to the adding another membrane issue. I added a 2nd membrane and fed it from the waste of the first membrane. Doubled pure production without increasing water consumption. If you are on a meter it is probably the best way.    I hope that wasnt stating the obvious

Thanks John,

The waste coming from the first membrane is 700 tds, double the amount of my original mains water, wont this contaminate the 100gpd much quicker (and make guess work in when to change filters, as they will both be inputting a different tds value, one at 350 and one at 700), and make it harder to get it down to an acceptable tds level before it hits the DI units.??? thanks for any info.
