Re: Minimun price to charge

Hi Guys

I would suggest that a price structure should involve more than a minimum charge and should give you the confidence to price with credibility.

I have a reasonably set price for 1 room, subsequent rooms, hsl, 3 piece suite, 3 bed house.

These are the prices at which I am happy to do the cleaning, I will only go lower in exceptional circumstaces but ease of cleaning can be  one, obviously an empty 3 bed house with a drive is pretty quick with a TM and can be discounted if neccessary.

Another factor is payment method, less for immediate payment, more for invoice, particularly if I know it may take a bit of time.

Conversely I have factors which increase price, such as travel. hassle, how much I want to do the job, degree of difficulty etc.

Setting prices needs to reflect what you want/need to earn, local competitive charge, obviously London is more expensive than the sticks, your skill level, have you a unique sales advantage etc.

Look at quality businesses in other industries, are their prices the same all year round, does supply and demand affect them, are payment method/ terms a factor ?

Cheers

Doug

Thanks guys for your advise -

I`ve only been cleaning carpets for about 6 months after completing the course and the like.   I know  others in the business who have been doing it longer have the experience.
I`ve been running my own window cleaning business for the last 8 years and now in the process of lnforming my customers that I also clean carpets.
I`ve been out to work with an experienced c/c who`s been running the business for something like 15 years and his advise was  excellent.
I just dont want to be selling myself short.
