When filling the van after i unhook the hose from the tank hose there is always water left in the hose, when i then pour over my potted plants.

You should see one of my lemon scented ferns - its gone brown, like its died (actually it has killed parts of it as they are falling apart when touched) on part of it where it gets the excess water dripped on it from the hose. Its the only plant i pour the excess water on.. 

Anyone else got an experience of pure water killing plants?

It could be where water lands on the leaves and sunlight scorches the leaf through magnification, this would happen with ANY water not just RO.

wont kill them or help them theres nothing in pure water that will make them grow no minerals

The fern was under the car port, so no direct sunlight, but i suppose UV can still get through.

I have 2 more ferns, maybe i should test them one with pure and one with tap..LOL

True enough most times rainwater comes out at about 25ppm.

What a load of total rubbish.
I clean numerous properties including my own with flower beds directly under windows and I've yet to see any signs of vegetation massacres.

It may be that the fern is actually being OVER WATERED.
Many ferns prefer a good soaking but not too often.
Also, DI water if not food grade could be suspect. I wouldnt drink it.

True enough most times rainwater comes out at about 25ppm.

0.025ppm? around Chepstow it rain water comes in at about 0.005 to 0.009ppm!

Over watering sounds the most likely reason, especially with ferns...

Try a few experiments, siphon off some pure water to look after a few indoor pot plants, make sure you have a couple of identical plants of course, water some with pure water and some with tap water, give it a few weeks and see what transpires...

If you pour too much water on plants you will leach the soil of nutrients, leaving nothing good for the plant in the soil

I've drank my pure water when it was hot and I didn't have a drink. Didn't have much, but it didn't taste right.

That is most Bizarre, as mods we would never delete such posts for no reason.

Maybe it could of been when there was a ding dong going on a day or 2 ago in a poat you was involved in, and there was some innapropriate posts ?

Or maybe its just us moderators deleting posts for no reason at all because we have nothing better to do ?

No its far from being over watered - it was just dribbles from the hose every now and then. The only explanation really is it being scorched in the uv rays of the sun.

It was just DI water - if that makes any difference?

Dont drink it, especially after its been through DI resin vessel!
