SECTION II: OBJECT OF THE CONTRACT
II.1) DESCRIPTION
II.1.1) Title attributed to the contract by the contracting authority:
Provision of Cleaning Services.
II.1.2) Type of contract and location of works, place of delivery or of
performance: Services.
Main site or location of works: New College, Swindon.
II.1.3) The notice involves: A public contract.
II.1.5) Short description of the contract or purchase(s): To provide an
internal cleaning service, including the provision of equipment and
materials for New College. New College comprises of the Main
Building/Annex, Sports Centre, College House on the main site and two
smaller units in West and North Swindon. The Supplier will be expected to
provide cleaning services to all internal areas of the college buildings.
The work comprises of day to day routine and periodic cleaning of offices,
classrooms, workshops, laboratories, refectories, reception, toilets,
changing rooms, showers, plus other areas across New College sites. The
major parts of these works will need to be carried out between the hours
of 06:30 to 08:30 Monday to Friday to a very high standard of cleaning.
Day time refresh cleaning and janitorial services will be required at main
locations throughout the day from 08:30 to 16:30 and late cleaning will be
carried out between 16:30 and 18:30 Monday to Friday. This is to maintain
a clean, hygienic, safe and secure working and learning environment for
all.

II.2) QUANTITY OR SCOPE OF THE CONTRACT
II.2.1) Total quantity or scope: To provide an internal cleaning service,
including the provision of equipment and materials for New College. New

year contract value, although the term of this contract will be 3 years

III.2) CONDITIONS FOR PARTICIPATION
III.2.1) Personal situation of economic operators, including requirements
relating to enrolment on professional or trade registers: Information and
formalities necessary for evaluating if requirements are met: Member of
the British Institute of Cleaning Science (BISC) or similar. Appropriate
Training Provision for staff.
III.2.2) Economic and financial capacity: Information and formalities
necessary for evaluating if requirements are met: Appropriate statements
and Accounts. Confirmation of public liability and employers liability
insurance levels.
Minimum level(s) of standards possibly required: Public Liability
Insurance cover of at least GBP 5 000 000 and Employers Liability
Insurance cover of at least GBP 5 000 000.

evaluating if requirements are met:
Relevant experience of providing cleaning services, the capability and
appropriate number of employees, details of any references for similar
work.
