London Heathrow Terminal Number 5.

My goodness, it's beautiful. I was there this week, really made me wonder who cleans it. Mind you, at International arrivals you have got those large panels that block the sun (don't know the right word.) They are immense, and no walkway, and can't reach over it with wfp. I guess it's all MEWP work? Even then, it's so high, I don't think any MEWP would go that high. Plus, how would you get in between the panels?

Was very intriqued, and felt very humbled when thinking about how to clean it.

Here is the picture of the panels :

Yes amazing isn't it.
They get awards for the building but the clever clogs who designed it didn't have the forsight to think.....Now how are we going to keep this looking clean.
And then wonder why they get quotes for hiddeous amounts of money.

I do a block of flats where the windows on the staircases have wooden planks across the fronts, so you can't get poles through them, and ladders are out of the question. Luckily most NOT ALL can be done from the inside by opening and bringing each window into the building.
I had a wonderful discussion with the designer who took pride in telling me the design got awards from The Times, he wasn't so smug when I asked him how are we supposed to clean those particular 6 panes of glass ;D

If you look at the top right of the building you will see what look like cradle attachments, could be they use a cradle and wfp or just a squodge on a stick. lol

I think it's Cleaning Enterprises Ltd, or Dougland who clean Heathrow.... might be wrong though... ;)
