Dip tank oven chemicals
«

Hi guys,
I have just bought a dip tank after months of searching but I now need to know what chemicals I need to put in it, I have done some experimenting but nothing seems to be working, also it takes around 2.5-3hrs for the tank to boil, I was hoping the whole process was going to take around 1.5 - 2hrs. Can anyone help?
Thanks
Natasha

The chemical is commercial oven cleaner. Ethier non caustic or caustic.
You should be able to collect this at your local chemical supplier.
Now caustic is faster in my opinion. Now you do not pour the whole chemicla in. Its mixed at the manufacturers dilution rates.
Also I could br wrong but it does not need to boil! Just be at a certain tempreture.
here is a link... its one I use to use. I cannot find the other one on the web

Hope this helps.

I use a heavy industrial degreaser diluted 40/1 and add an alkaline powder. It takes 30 minutes to heat up adequately using a BBQ gas bottle.

May I ask where you sourced your dip tank from?
Thanks

These tanks are really hard to come by. I have been doing things the old fashion way while waiting for one to appear from somewhere. I've been using a large tub and hot water get the job done, only problem is when there is no electric at these student digs. Sometimes I use cold water but needs more elbow grease.

You would think that with all the folks on here wanting a good tank someone would come up with either an address off of the manufactures label maybe on the tank or a web address
of people who make the tanks, after all I thought the idea of this website was to share knowledge with each other.

Heated dip tanks range from £600 plus new.
I did have an address of a supplier. If I find it I will post it.

I think what you you are after is the chemical that is used in the dip tank, myself I use a chemical called FAST-KLEEN supplied by a company called chemiclean -
www.chemiclean.co.uk
is the website I believe they also supply the oven cleaning gel and all of it is bio-degradeable and non-caustic.
Thanks
