Anyone know of a half decent battery Vac?
« on: June 09, 2009, 02:07:18 pm »
Never used one but just been offerred a contract of three small residential blocks (old conversion) and there is no common parts electricity.

Would only need to last about 45 mins at a time.

Any recomendations?

Hi,

Best one on the market imo is the Karcher T9/1 Bp, you get 35 mins run time.

Will email you more info.

Simon is of course correct! Well nearly!

We have the Karcher and it would be ideal. Its is great. Only let down is it is extremely heavy as it takes 2 batteries.

The suction is not that bad, could be better but it does do the job. It runs on Battery and electric but you need to charge the batteries up with a charger.

The batteries are expensive, they were a few months back. we originally paid £600 for the t91 KARCHER. It is available now for £349.

here is a link http://www.carpetcleaners.co.uk/karcher-t91-bp-dry-tub-vacuum-battery-powered-83-p.asp

If you need a longer lasting one then you will need to spend around £1000 and get it to run on 2 x 12v car batteries that way it will last up to 2 + ours.

Or purchase a 2 x 12v car batteries. 1 converter. that is strong enough to handle the wattage of the vacuum cleaner and hay presto you have a battery operated vac. Perfectly legal. All you do is purchase a trolley and bolt the car batteries on. And a surface that the vacuum cleaner fixes to on top of the batteries.

Its exactly what the £1000 battery vacs are made out of!

So all you do is charge the car batteries up prior to going to the contract.

Sorry, but how on earth do they expect this job to be done without mains electricity on had?

Hi Vacman,

We have many jobs well over 40 jobs in fact that require a battery operated vac or battery operated equipment where there is no Mains electricity on hand.

However as the equipment is more expensive than your everyday equipment you can adjust the price accordingly.

Some sites we have to have a generator in site.

The tools are endless

WFP systems run on Battery, Vacs run on battery, carpet cleaners run on battery, floor buffers on battery, ride on floor scrubbers on battery. and many more designed for this exact reason. Cable safety and no electricity

Jobs done during the day where there is high risk of people tripping over cables, so battery powered tools were invented for this reason. It lowered the insurance for cleaning companies if they use cableless equipment.

Aah guilty as charged- the article was for Adiuvo in the current NOTB. That is one of my companies - a telephone response/call handling company for Property Management Companies.

The other is, I think exactly as you, a cleaning company specialising in Communal Residential stuff which would explain my presence here.  I guess we are competitors!

Douglas & Gordon? havent worked there for 4 odd years but do work for them and know the senior staff (actually seeing them next week)

I do very little on the ground floor these days (so much so that i spend most of my time at our Head Office in Ireland) but I am around in UK once a month or so and am always amenable to meeting up.
Email me on colin@tcsbc.co.uk if you like
