Getting quieter and quieter as this year passes by. So its back to leaflets for extra work for me. Tried leaflets over the years with a little success. So the big question IS THERE A LEAFLET OUT THERE THAT WILL GUARANTEE MORE WORK THAN ANY OTHER LEAFLET?
Eg prices on or not? special offers or not? Remember hearing that pink paper had a better response. Any examples of leaflets that work out there would be greatly appreciated ?

No not really, to get the most calls you will have to put unbelievably cheap offers but the double the response you get will sour when you are working for half the money, the only way to get work is to get your name out there also in the present climate response may be less than normal people aren't motivated to spend at the moment.

Chris do you send your existing customers reminders or new customers a thank you letter ? That works for me and all it costs is a stamp . Not done leaflets as yet ,but i did find direct mail very good and have built on that by sending out those letters and getting recomendations .

Yes Dave I send out reminder cards. I've got ads in Yellow pages, Thomson, Yell.com and a few local directories. I've gotta say Jan to March was as busy as I've ever been but its dropped off alarmimgly.

just plod along and keep your service and prices right, then things will come right, june for me has started off very slow but even though its slow i can still earn more money in 3 hours tnhan it takes a shelf stacker to earn all week so dont be too harsh on yourself and just keep going.

You are right , the trade for the past 3 weeks or so has been very quiet, we leaflet drop when we can and still get small amount of jobs from them but nothing to write home about, i would say putting the price on your leaflets depends on how competative your prices are against other local firms.

I find the leaflets are a great idea , but better with a business card fridge magnet if they put it up your no. is always there!!

Also with leafleting I've found that some areas yeild little or no response, where others give a good return. so not only does your leaflet have to be good it has to go into a good area.
