hi .i posted a topic a few days back about conservatory roofs.i know last time i under priced the job.
i  quoted today  another one .£50 just for the roof.the customer agreed and said i'll do it in a rainy day,saturday.that's the forecast anyway.i was just wondering if i can buy some detergent like truck wash or anything from b&q or homebase that will do the job as i don't think if i order online i'll get it buy saturday.
opinions please.thank you very much

Did you quote the rest of the con too as it would be a shame to get the con roof all nice and new but the guttering, frames and windows still being a mess

I think I would have quoted double - I would then spend a few hours on it to get it really top notch including outside of guttering etc...

Spray with Ecover, particularly generously around the finials and profiles, go back to the beginning and brush it off.

An hour, 50 squid, good job, reasonable price.

Ewan, who says theres any travelling time involved? It might have been next door.

It would also have been just as easy to change the quote to £115 rather than come out with £50, (aasuming most quotes are done with no concern in securing the job) but then again most customers arent as easy come easy go as you imply.

Its an hours work, nothing more.

I bet it didn’t take you a lot of effort to jump from the £20 you charged for your other conservatory roof clean to £50 for this one.

Still £50 is too cheap for a one off customer (travelling time); it would have just been as easy to charge £75 without changing anything in your sales pitch other than the price.

Still think you are under quoting, I would have quoted at least £100 for the roof.

I focus 2 day a week on jobs like that and have no problems quoting £100 for a job like that.

i have a minimum charge of £95 average £125. i do them on fridays, next 3 fridays inc tomoz ive got 3 booked in each day!!  Im thinking of uping my minimum, to many people saying yes!!!

i think i can manage to do it in 60-70 min if it rains as they say on sunday and add some caravan cleaner .it's a lot harder to get work this days so i'm happy to do it for £50 for 70 min of work especially in a day when is raining and can do window cleaning.

i would have gone for at least £100 and then quoted on the rest of the house then maybe given a discount for regular service

wish I would get £50 for 2/3 mins travle time, I would get a bed in the van like your Matt and sleep for a few hours during the day
