I have a large trailer (3 ton capability) that now has marine ply sides & top. Me quad goes in here & I've a cunning plan for next winter!
A wood burning stove Wiv back burner. I'm told coal will burn slowly all night. Meaning stonking hot water ( there is also 2 400 l lay flat tanks under the bike. )
And if it's too cold, we can 'ave eggs & bacon.
Anybody see any probs?

Where are you installing it?

Remember, for a gravity fed system all pipework & tanks must be higher than stove & the gravity feed pipe must rise continusly from stove to vent.

Heat leak- where's the heat going to disperse once all your system is piping hot? Meltdown!!! On a domestic system this would be an unvalved large raditor.

Electronic override- a thermostat controlled pump which would click on to disperse the heat once the system is getting too hot. If the pump or power fails this is where the heat-leak is a back-up.

Vent- not a flue but a vented pipe system.

Oh, & it must be multi-fuel as coal won't burn on a wood burner!

Or just use a simple wood burner to take the frost off. Insulate your IBC tank in a small shed on sturdy stilts, put the log burner underneath with the exhaust flue near the tank and running out the roof.

Scavange bits of wood, light at night and in the winter you'll have stored water several degrees above freezing.

PROFIT WARNING

Warning - log burners are quite labour/time intensive - I run one in my house and add up the time collecting cutting and wood and cleaning and removing ash from the stove it would be cheaper and easier to clean an extra house a day and make a tenner to spend on gas.

I do it as a hobby really.

If as a business you want frost protection use an electric low wattage heater or if you want HOT water on tap - get a diesel heater and run it on waste oil.

I'll allow for these extras in the budget.
My intial thoughts were that just enough coal to keep going all nght whilst pumping 800 liters around the back boiler. Do you think this would heat the water above 40 degrees c?
