Payments via iPhone app
« on: May 27, 2009, 09:28:37 am »
Thought this could be of interest. I'm due for a new phone soon and this could be a great solution for payments. Don't know the cost will have a read up later.

Yeah i was thinking of getting a terminal for this. Not chip and pin, but customer not present and you can take details over the phone, or if they are standing next to you.

Perhaps, when the prices come down huh :D

Just tried to go to the Apple store form the website above to check how much the app is and it says it is not available in the UK App Store yet.

I've just found one in the apps store called credit card terminal. It was in the business section. £29.99. It looks the same.

This app still requires access to www so why not just use PayPal Virtual Terminal and use the web browser to process?

Just been looking in the app store. Loads of apps so you can take cards. Cheapest I've found so far is £8.99 for the app. I put in paypal and a few came up.

You dont really need an app to do this, you can just open safari and goto paypal.co.uk. You have to sign up to use their virtual terminal but they offer some very good rates. The apps are just another way to display the front end, they still require you to be connected to the internet in order to process the payments
