Over the years, I have found that by far the most successful marking method I have found, is saying "Good Morning" (or equivalent) to passers-by.

It worked twice today. :)

I agree, manours go miles our job, i did a house years ago and she said "the last window cleaner never did a good job i always had to redo them" i was like "why didnt you say something!" ..."well he was such a polite lovely lad i didnt have the heart to say anything"

When i was working for my cousins firm, we were the second window cleaner this lady had.

She couldn't bring herself to tell the other "old guy" to stop coming (he was rubbish) but very nice and getting on a bit.
