Hi Ryan,
Dave Ingrams the man to speak too, However my advice would be to check the seals in the waste tank lid and ensure it is probably closed.

You might also have a filter in the waste tank which can clog up unscrew it and give it a good brush to remove any build up.

Hope this helps, Im sure Dave will be on later. You could allways try the t.m forum, mail me at carpet.care@tiscali.co.uk if you want the url

Not a TM owner, but if you didn't get a manual with it from the seller with troubleshooting stuff you can download it.

www.truckmounters.com

is it direct drive? if it's belt driven then the belts might be slipping.

otherwise air is leaking into the system, if you put your hand over the vac hose  what is the hg guage reading ?

also like Paul said, check your filter

It's probably just the vac relief that needs setting.

its turned out to be the vacuum intake ( i think) on the vacuum/waste tank, its like a sink plug hole!!
anyway through my vaste experience of porties ??? i eventually after 3 hours of panic, figured out that any air getting into the waste tank would be bad.I then got the wife to put her hand over the holes (sink plug) and by je*s*s it pulled ;D I now have to figure out how to fix the water temp ??? any ideas ???

the sink plug holes are part of the vac relief system they allow air into the waste tank when the required vac pressure is achieved, don't block them up. doesn't it have a big bolt with a spring running through it?

whats up with the water temp? too cold?

The water heats up ok,i was just wondering can you adjust the temp. As for the vac relief i found a big screw with a large washer type thing it had fell into the waste tank but there was no spring or top on it so it could be adjusted.Where would i get a replacement?

Hydramaster seems like a good place to start.

Any spring that fits over the threaded section will do. The assembly should end up with the washer being firmly pressed against the inside of the waste tank by the pressure exerted by the spring. then make adjustments to the amount of compression in the spring until a hg reading of abou 14 hg is maintained when the airflow from the wand is restricted.

What i should have said is that any spring that will provide enough resistence to compression  will do. The ones Hm fit are are made from wire that is somewhere between 1 - 2mm in guage. You may have to play around with a few differant ones before you find one that allows you to achieve 14 hg. a flimsy one even if its nearly fully compressed by the adjuster will not let you get to 14 hg.

Hi Ryan,
The Spitfire 3.2 does not have adjustable temp.  If you require lower temps then on the front of th machine you will see a hand that when opened releases water from the mix tank.  What i used to do was open that very slightly to release water & this kept the temp down.  Simply fit a length of hose that will either reach to the floor or to your fresh water tank.  You can get clear hose from places like B&Q that will fit nicely.  You could always fit a temp control unit to the TM.  Contact Craig at HM & ask him about it.  We fitted a to the Spitfirre 4.0 a few years back.

Richie.
