I got asked yesterday if I have a CRB check done!!

I have as it happens but has anyone else been asked or had them  done?

Yes I have by a BUPA nursing home that I had cleaned for a couple of years. The new manageress went by the book & said she had to let me go as some convictions I had incurred a life time ago (over 20 years) forced her hand.

I was asked by a company for CRB, but was told that it would only be for staff.
Apparently, as the owner of the company I didn't need it.
Still doing the job myself without it.

I do a large care home, and had one for 3 years now, the manager said it couldnt accept any windowcleaners who do inside work without one. previous to that i did the same home for 15 years before they asked but i dont think CRB,s or 'Criminal Investigation Beureux' checks were around then.

I think you may find your wrong on that one, some things will be picked up on crb checks it depends on what they search for it is not limited to 7 years trust me
