Is the 978 reading from the waste of the RO or is it in the membrane housing?

Try changing your pre-filters. It sounds like one of them is leaching carbon into the water.

the reading is taken it hits ro,

ro 2 years old, but this one was used part time, I have three of them now, but only use one.

Will order some pre filters and try that, I may change back to 10 inch if this happens again as I used to change them monthly at £3.50 a pop and 20 inch seem to be way over priced from everywhere, more so if it is the pre filters I will be selling the casings and go back to what would perfectly fine before.......

Just wondered 'cos my membranes were knackered after two and a half years on a 300gpd. I changed the prefilters and the tds kept going up, so had to be membranes in the end.

changed over the pre filters, but it was not them that was causing the problem :o, anyway after scratching my head for ages I desided to take things apart and found brown gundge on the inline probe on tds meter and the pipes, not got a clue how it got there, but flushed it all out problem solved  ;D
