I been cleaning a stone floor today with a new cleaner and i need a defoamer with it, whats the cheapest, or does a bar of soap do just as good. I'm using a triple wet vac for extraction. Any suggestions?

I use a blob of Extracta's defoamer and suck it up with the stair/upholstery tool to line the hose.... Works wonders..... I did just use to just pour it in the waste tank.

Dymatrol defoamer, don't know how widely its available but I pick it up from my local supplier for approx. £7 for 5Ltr. Liquid form and you need very little in the tank, lasted about 3 months so far.

I bought 5 litres of Amtech's defoamer about 10 years ago for my first CFR, but have very rarely used d/f as I rarely find foaming up to be a problem.

If it was a regular problem I'd be asking myself  " how much product am I leaving in the carpets "

Its not for carpets, its for the stone floor cleaner i have tried today. Looked at 4 jobs and did test area's and it works very well but needs a defoamer.

Teach me to pay attention Sherco I did'nt notice who was posting and can understand how you would generate foam in your line of work.

I have a hot tub, and i have some defoamer for it....Never even thought of that.

Just had a look at hot tub defoamer and it says do not mix with cleaning products....Here is another question...I mix my floor cleaner with water then apply it onto the stone floor, rotary scrub, dwell for 10-15 mins then suck it up with wet vac...So do i put defoamer into water and cleaner or do i put 5 litre of water with defoamer  into the wet vac before i start removing from the floor?

Dont put the defoamer into your product tank any residue left on the floor will attract dirt grease etc. Same applies to carpet cleaners.

Thats why its best to suck it thriugh your pipes as Colin said , thay way it lines your pipes and into the waste tank.
