Need Little Help Pls
« on: May 16, 2009, 03:11:50 pm »
Hi all

Was asked Thursday if i could supply a deep clean at a school.

Recived there plans they will do the builders clean after work, All they are doing is re-pipeing water supply to most rooms,
I have no idea on the price from reading the plans i normally view before i quote but on this its not possiable

The Rooms are:
7 Classrooms (Avg 50 foot by 25 foot),
9 Toilet rooms  (avg 3 toilets per room),
4 Offices not that large just avg size lounge size,
1 Large Main kitchen,
4 Hallways,
2 Little rooms.

If anyone has a price off the top of there head for what i should quote i would be very gratefull

Thx

Rob

Must admit I have never given a quotation from plans, don't normally give quotes before the jobs finished or nearly finished as you never know how the builders will leave the place.  It may be an idea to offer a hourly price or even a day rate with a approx time it may take, failing that pluck a figure out the sky and double it then cross your fingers.

Good luck

Maybe you could provide an estimate as opposed to a quote.  Let them know what could adjust the estimate up or down.

hi there

so are you being asked to do the builders clean or is that beign done before you do your bit ??

if the builders know that they are having a cleaning company in to do a dep clean, then you can put money on them not doing their clean up very well.

the question is how do they expect you tp qhuote for a deep clean without seeing the job, you could be in for a lot of trouble.

you quote low, and then you find the site is really dirty, therefore you are on a loser, you quote high and you dont win the work.

what is the reasoning behind not being able to view the job prior to your quoting ??

regards

martin

The job is in local primary school they are fitting new pipes in. It will be starting in the 6 weeks holidays and all quotes goto be in by end of play on 20th of may  :'(

Seems i will have to make reasonable estimate with a clause stateing it could change if they are messy gits and they dont do the builders clean properly, Its the plumbing company thats taking the quotes for the job when chap phoned he said his guys would do the builders clean before i go in there but tbh having a plumber doing a builders clean should be funny  :o

Thx for help guys think i will try me luck at £500 ish and hope they do good job on builders clean
