Single 15amp lead machine with ........
« on: May 15, 2009, 08:48:26 pm »
Just came across an electric T / M which uses one 15 amp lead and has 330cfm  plus 280 degrees and is very comfortable at 250 feet for eight thousand dollars.

Plus it's upgradable

Seen this before. Don't think it would work over here. Even though the US electric system is lower voltage it has a lot more grunt. You need 2 15amp circuits to run it which you wouldn't have in the UK.

I think Mark Roberts enquired about these TM's but after having a self build TM built along those lines I'd say that they are more trouble than what they are worth.

Pimp a Bane may be, I think Mike did that but still he went petrol.

I think in the next few years we will have a system for sale on these lines..

Like most t mount set ups for the future they are going to get much smaller and compact..

like most manufacturers he's talking waffle ::)

he makes  a big deal that no gasoline is used, but what about the LPG that heats the water

and what is a 'a good vacuum' this could mean anything.

so on this 1 plug he is a running 2 pumps and  hopefully 2 vacuums, (the water heater he uses requires no electric)

**************just looked at website**************

i can't see where he get the fact it will run off 1 power cord, all the arrangement he talks about have a miniumum  of 2.

mike

Ps clinton you're wrong ;)

sussed it!!

on 1 power cord you run his '1 vacuum/auto pump-out unit', which  directly hooking up to the house tap to supply the hot water, so no pump

not exactly a T/M

I used this machine for a few hours cleaning in the states a few years ago and bought his booster for use with the Bane machine.

It works very well.  High pressure pump, super LPG heater and great vac using three super vacs.  He powers this from a generator.

The problem is to power it all you need either three leads into the house or the generator.  The generator is the same size as a TM so all together is a big unit.

Thats what put me off and the fact hes a few thousand miles away if it goes wrong.

Personally I dont ever see electric TMs take off as they dont have the power. The same goes with three vac portables.  They lose too much power over short distance.  Great for up to 75ft-100ft but then you lose too much.

these T/Ms are just an addition to the world of truckmounts, not a vision of whats to come,

in the same time that the Prowler appeared so did the Titan and new Steamaction 250hp T/M.

IMO  if anything carpet cleaners are wanting bigger T/M

I've heard it said that the larger engines don't have to run at full revs so use less fuel but I'm not a believer.

as for big T/m having powerwashing ability, my mate has the chemspec machine which is suppose to be capable of 3000psi  powerwashing,  but although it reads 3000psi on his gauge its doesn't feel it at the lance, I think the the Heat exchanger restrict the flow so cuts down the power.

The Savage ( it's the guys name by the way ) has a very positive review on another forum and a fair bit of interest.

Seems to do what they claim. Why would'nt it ?

I agree with that Clinton but the on the other hand anyone who has bought a new machine thinks that it is the best thing ever just to justify spending their own money, the real reviews come in 3-6 months down the line when the dust has settled and the memory of signing the cheque has gone.

In this industry we buy expensive equipment blind folded never trying it out just going on figures or what other people say, aren't we silly billy's? remember the RV360? nobody is that fussed about them so much, Goron's is probably sat in his garage collecting dust! :o

It's not new Shaun apparently been around for 8 years. I just came across the site and was amazed at the spec'.

It's been reviewed and has positive comments. He claims to have very powerful vacs which give incredible pull and can't be off the tap with 600psi.

If it's as good as it's claimed it must be worth researching especially at the price.

Clinton I can see why you would say.....

'trouble is anyone trying to make something a little bit dif will be shot down by a few'

but I believe some manufacturers think all us carpet cleaners are idiots, look at his website where he constantly emphases that his machine uses no gasoline, but what about the generator he uses to power the machine, does that run on fresh air? and like I said before he use propane to heat the water.

i've been aware of this machine for years and I love the concept of a modular machine and have a high regard for this company ( they have an excellent reputation in the USA)

but if a machine is good it will sell itself it does need clever words or silly claims.

All about marketing I suppose Mike and getting the prospect's attention. Today it's all about maximising air flow by adding 2 or even 3 vac's, two inch hoses and high output pumps.

When microsplitters first arrived it looked like we were heading for less water, no heat just prespray aggitate and ectract with a smidging of acid rinse in the tank.

While the advantage of high heat and power is obvious, it's raising the operator's cost  hugely.

I expect there will always be a market for different systems and innovators are good for all businesses. In the case of this market, Argo got people off their knees in 1946 when they introduced bonnet cleaning.

Don't think Mr Savage is being dishonest the unit is not powered by a petrol /diesel engine and uses the same method of heating water as other t/m's.
