George is an automated computer application that helps you organise your round, saves alot of time going through booklets seeing who needs cleaning and who needs to pay you.

WCP is a little more expensive yes but well worth it in my opinion. Its getting updated regurlary and the support is fantastic.

I found WCP to be alot more user friendly, i remember trialing George and entering cusomter in the same streest was a ball ache, ie "1 The Street" you had to write it out again, "2 The Street" and so on. With WCP, it auto completes saving alot of time and effort, and mind numbing  ;D

Go for WCP is you want a afantastic program and fantastic support!

That's the first time I've actually heard a reason why someone prefers WCP to George. Usually they just say "because it's better".
Autocomplete for an extra £125  ::) , think I'll give that one a miss  ;D

heres a few more ''reasons''

the lite version on the pda
allows me to phone or text customers straight from the record
i can enter a note and get the system to remind me on the screen when back in the office
i can see running totals of work completed and work left

the main system allows several ways to schedule work

including a new wall planner which shows overdue jobs and up coming ones i just click on them and add them to a worksheet.

i can assign multiple jobs to one customer eg window cleaning 4 weekly and con roof clean 6 mthly

i can set round orders which stay the same and dont get muddled like george did

things im looking forward to are emailing invoices straight from the program
also coming are reminders for overdue invoices so the system just asks you to send an email reminder and a series of chasing statement when it has unpaid bills, no more checking!

texting from the main system, so if i have 5 jobs tomoro that need to be told to unlock their gates just highlight them and click to send a standard text message to them.

there are a lot of features i havent learned yet, but i have run george for 4 years and it served me well but was basic,

bottom line is if you buy wcp you wont outgrow it, you can have it on your phone and the updates are fast and regular with useful features.

the extra money is spent once and is worth every penny

Ok, I can see there is a little more to it  :-\

I asked the question somewhere else and nobody could give me a sensible reason to spend the extra on WCP.

I've paid for George now so maybe WCP is one for the future.

I haven't used,  pocket george for a while, but if i remember right, you can sync pocket george with pc george to show the jobs for the day, but you need to have bought george before changes to pocket can be sync'd back to pc george.

Hi

We run a system called MIDAS, live data/cash tracking "runs in the clouds" in real time, no software, no synchonisation, there is a posting on here somewhere.

Kind regards

Kate

Ive bought pro but still on george because i haven't had time and don't know how to print a work list.

One thing you didn't mention- setting up expenses and putting your logo onto a defaut invoice,(that's two, always adding value)

moving from george to wcp is easy if you let ian run you through it, he even put in a couple of things for me so i can just chose to have all my work between speciifc dates and automatically do worksheets for each round if you want.

since getting used to the choices wcp gives you ive actually changed the way i organise my work compared to how i had it with george.

the best thing is to decide a day that you change over and stick to it its too much hassle trying to run both
