Can you run a truckmount on the basic package of waste and water tanks and obviously hoses and wand? What are the other things needed and can they be gathered up later on.

Sent Colin an email, was also talking to Dave Ingram about his machine but unfortunately hes not ready to sell until the end of June
So im back looking at hydramaster they have a spitfire 3.2 with 2100 hrs with waste water tank and fresh water tank,50ft hoses and wand for £3250 plus vat.

add another 50 foot of hoses, you'll definately need 100 ft, theres been a few occasions where ive needed 150 but i regularely use 100 so thats a must.
as for that package, i know nothing about the spitfire so i won't comment on that, but yeah in answer to your question, you will need more hose. everything else you can get later.

you can clean carpets with a basic package.  you might need a handtool which will handle the pressure ( I don't know how low you can alter the PSI on the sptifire)

are you in a rush to buy a T/M?  you should be patient  until a bargain becomes available, not just rush in and buy that spitfire because thats the only T/M available at this moment.

I personally would be wanting something a little bigger.

Ryan hold fire and see what else in on offer, the last time a 4,0 came up on e-bay they were like no 6 buses 2 came together and then there were more machines.
I'd do as Mike Haliday say's and  hang fire r or you  can wait till I have had my holiday and you can have what you need for well under 3 grand

I has a Spitfire 3.2.  Fantastic starter unit that can cope with 300-350 feet of hose.  The pressure is adjustable from as low as about 150psi.  Very easy to use, maintain and very very reliable.  Ideally as a stert you would need;

150 feet of hoses
wand
upholstery tool

The spitfire 3.2 is one of the most fuel economy units on the market.  It easily fits into SWB transit & other SWB vans including vans such as Fiat Scudo.  I once saw a spitfire 3.2 fitted into a Vauxhall Combo van but that was without a fresh water tank.

Mine had the 14hp B&S engine on it & from what i remember it used about the same as th 16hp which is less than a gallon per hour.  I was using a PC unit with a 16hp B&S engine on it the other week & that was using about 3/4 gallon per hour.

I got a spitfire 4.0, love it. Though it was a deal at the time.

I wanted a TM real bad at the time at bought the first one I saw, but it came from a good home, so far its been ok, the rubber donuts on the drive shaft go now and again, but thats the worse that happened to mine.

If you are honest there are better ones around, 3k is a lot for an intro model but obviously this at HM will have been checked over and should give you years of happy work.

And yes you will need more hose length.

Thats big hours Id want it cheaper.
Youll need 200ft of hose.
A reel is handy.
Water hose 100ft.
Up graded wand and tools as mentioned.

 I do think that price of the 3.2 is a little high,  the hours are not high enough to cause concern.  I suppose it depends on the kind of warranty HM are offering on that 3.2 that may make it worth while.  You could ask if they will throw in another 100 feet of each hose FOC.

On the site its advertised at £3100+vat, but when i phoned i was told that its actually £3250+vat. Nick from solutions then answered a post i had on the other forum and offered what i can only assume is the same machine for £3500+vat

That sounds abit strange Ryan.  1 thing for sure is...i wouldnt deal with Nick regardless.   Is there any reason why you cant wait for the Spitfire 4.0 from Dave Ingram?  The unit he is offering you has been modified.  The original 4.0 was well known for been a troublesome machine.  very rare to find one that didnt have constant faults/breakdowns.  Dave has taken off all the bells n whistles & made the machine into a reliable simple to use unit without affecting its performance.  The 4.0 has approx 150 more CFM & is abt 30f hotter water.  Dave will sort you out im sure with much more hose/tools at a much cheaper price to.
