Simon,   Thats always assuming you can get a job at MacDonald's. I know somebody who would happily take one if he could get it. He must have applied for over sixty jobs since christmas.

He started out feeling reasonably confident that something would turn up but as time has gone by the panic has really set in. The stomach churning four oclock in the morning sort of panic.

Don't underestimate what people are prepared to do when everything is on the line. We are not talking about beer and f*gs dole scroungers now.

Real people with mortgages and families and the redundancy money running out fast.

I know exactly what you mean Vince but anybody who actually sat down and gave it 10 minutes thought would realise that chances are they're realistically going to do a 20 hour week in their early window cleaning days (I mean 20 hours actually eyeballing glass) therefore they would need to charge twice minimum wage to earn the equivalent McDonalds pay for a 40hr week.

Did you know that most people die between the hours of 2 and 4am? It's biologically the lowest ebb of the human body. And that's why when we wake up between those hours silly little problems that during the day are just petty irritations suddenly become a massive crisis!

Er...not £200 a day!

My best ever day was £14 5s 6d....took the missus out for a slap-up fish and chip supper later that evening. She had small haddock and chips and I had cod and chips, 2 slices of bread and 2 mugs of tea...each! Avoided the pickled onions as they make me fart in bed later (or so she tells me).

Joking aside: Nobody says to me "Simon get out of bed and I'll guarantee you £200."  It's basically; get my sorry arse out of the sack and do my round. Some days it'll be fronts only because nobody is home. Other days it'll be fronts, back and ins because somebody is at home....£200 a day?...I'm sure some on this forum do that but me along with 99% don't!

That is both annoying to hear and a bit comforting too.

On the one hand we have all seen wallies charging silly prices,
but on the other we can see that with most customers that you look after they will stay with you even if offered a better price.

Haven't lost any residential yet, and I'm not cheap
Yes you are  ;D ;D ;D ;D Syd

Heard of a w/c today that does a 3 bed house + conservatory clean for £3.
Crazy or what?
