Hi peeps,

My wife want's to start carpet cleaning, domestic only.

We live in Germany and half my custy base are H.M. forces. When they move, about every 3 years, they have to hand over the house clean and as tidy as ....

The point is, I have seen some guys over here offering this carpet clean service and the prices range between 100 to 170 quid.

I have done some carpet cleaning in the past, I had a Kärcher puzzi profi 200 with Kärcher power head. (Back in the early 90's)

Seen this on Utube, would like your oppinions as you are the pro's and must know what you're talking about. I thought this was quite impressive.

You should take all these marketing videos with a pinch of salt until you actually get one in your hands and try it yourself. The Rotovac is good but how do you know how much he was triggering the wand to give a true comparison.

For domestic I would expect just as hard staining etc as in office buildings etc. Just thought that brush heads etc would always get better results.

I would be grateful for any tips on what kit to use. I have looked on FAQ's and have spent hours trying to work out what to get. I don't want to "Poke it with a stick" and see if a business is there, I know it is, I just want to get the right kit and not have to go back and buy a new setup after a short time if you see what I mean.

Maybe if he adjusted the wand so his back was straight, applied some pre-spray and agitated then the normal wand would give the same result, rather than just scrubbing away

I had a rotovac and a 360 from Alltec for a few days on trial,
Never tried the 360 as it was faulty, trigger never turned off. (Brand new)!!!
rotovac i found to be not that good, fiddly to get perfectly set, used masses of water
or didn't clean that well, and left the carpets very damp.
tested with Ninja and Powrflite.
If it cost a lot less then maybe i would consider it, but i found it slower than a wonderwand.

Thanks lads. Is Alltec the firm to go to for machines then? They seem to have a branch over here?

As for chemicals, I am OK with all that as I have a surplier already on hand. I have noticed though how advanced CC has become since I last did any.
