Hi All,

Im earning a good living from window cleaning now, on paper.

but the cheques are slow to come in , compared to the amount of work i do daily.... in other words i can "earn" a good wage , but waiting for the cheques the week after , makes it look pawltry, as the cheques never amount to a daily wage coming through the letter box.

They all come in eventually, but i want to put flyers out to all my customers... ticking a check box... if they want to use internet banking...

now , i have a few who use it now... but its name only on my statement.

To you guys who have this set up... how does the customer pay, leaving name and address as a reference?

i dont want to set this up with name only...and i want it set up right.

I have a paypal account which i pay monthly for and rarely use,

can anyone help please?

I have a few who pay like this. They use their address as a referance as that is how my round is set up, seems to work well. we clean and then I email them to let them know we've cleaned, they pay.

Hi Gazza...All but 6 of my customers pay via internet banking...it's very popular here....as is chip and pin etc.

When I look at my account...I can see who has paid as the originating account shows the customers name and full address including postcode (2 banks excepted).

Now what I have on my...'your windows have been cleaned' card is all the normal bumpf and then my account details.

When they make this transaction I ask them to place their name and postcode/house number in the comments field ( just a double up really ).

Does the trick for me...been working this way since we both started and you get to know the oddities.

I ask for a reference as..

Surname | House Number | Post Code

If the surname is different that to what i have down, at least the house number and the postcode can tell me which house!

I've seen people lose their houses after the tax man has investigated, is it worth it? their not stupid. If you like living life on the edge do it, personally I'd rather sleep at night.

You can only do it if you have an electric oven because gas is too expensive.

If you can bypass paypal and get them to pay by bank transfer to your business acount, I give each a customer reference number, and check each morning and  for 5/10 mins job done

collecting is ok , if you work in one area....or two...

mine is spread far and wide....as building each area... one day it may be easy to collect... but it aint just now, unless i want to spend every night at it

Your saying the cheques are taking time coming in? meaning you clean the windows and they take a while before they write there cheque and send it to you.

wel i dont see how internet banking would be any diffrent? they still going to take time before they go into there bank and do it?
