I have a job on thursday and there is no outside tap. I have an adaptor that fits over the tap and im going to ask the customer to keep an eye on it.

take your own water would be a good start, hose/tap in someone house your asking for trouble IMO I really hope your insured for it or you will learn at your expense :

Did that myself years ago and you will always get a leak. Find the drain off under the sink and put the hose on that and do it up with a jubilee clip and you will have no probs. Its flow rate you need,not pressure. I used to do a 45ft job this way with my old di Tucker system.

I think he doing gutter and con cleans and hasnt got a van or system,

Them tap connectors are a nightmare and youll have to have the right one for the right tap, trust me i know as my new house didnt have a outside tap so had to use kitchen for 1st fill till plumber came round.

Thats right I dont have a van just wfp that connect to the mains supply.

I will invest in a setup but will wait a little bit first.

easy answer

get a Washing machine hose, cut 1 end off and fit a hozelock connection to it

arrive at house and turn off washing machine tap, change hose for yours and connect your hose to the pipe

turn on washing machine tap , do job

turn off tap and then disconnect and connect back up washing machine

get paid

job done and no risk of flooding

As i do a handy bit of powerwashing.. I regurlarly come across houses with no outside taps. I carry all the various tap conectors with me.. From outside tap to square tap to round tap.. B&Q stock them and hozelock make them.. Your going to come across this again by the sounds of it..

Adam why don't you offer to fit an outside tap for say £40.

All you need is a decent drill and a £10 tap kit from B&Q - should take no more than 30 minutes

Oh I have a decent drill and many many thousands of drill bits.  Im also a supplier

Not a bad idea but wouldnt know where to start with it to be honest.

Right - this is wot you do.

Find the pipe leading to the gas cooker. Drill into it and listen to the pretty hissing noise (if you haven't died in the ensuing house-demolishing explosion) then call out the fire brigade and barbecue some sausages on the embers!
