hi there

ok, first of all you need to define exactly what you mean by making money,as different peoplehave differing definitions. ie you draw a salary from the business and then you have the profit on top of that, or you just want to earn a wage .?

as your business expands your costs will increase, however it is important to control the whole business. as your business grows your profit percentage will decrease but as your revenue increases so does your profit.

with regards to costings, some companies will simply eyeball a job and then price it from that, whilst others will measure and then quantify area to time duration of tasks.

i have seen companies recently one company with a turnover of £2 million making a nett profit of £70,000 and another for the same period with a turnover of £4 million making a nett loss in excess of £140,000.

it is critical to controll your individaul company orrespective of size.

regards

martin
