How many on here have one?  What are the results like?  And what have your repeat customers said about the cleans you are now doing compared to their previous cleans?  And lastly it looks great how does it act as a marketing tool for when others see it?

Havnt used one so cant comment on its performance.

As to looks - at the end of the day the customer doesnt care what the machine looks like, all they are interested in is their carpets being clean, dry without shrinkage and getting the c/cleaner out of the way.
I have what many consider to be a ugly machine but no one has said "thats an ugly machine" but plenty have said "thats a good job you done, heres something extra.".

Without searching the web I'm assuming this is Texatherm technology (rotary) with some extra feature ?

There is a post somewere from a while ago about the emv machine.

They use the water tank as a heater as well for the pads so you can use both buffer and then extract.

The thing is not too many independant companies have one, so you won't have a great deal of feedback posted  from other  operators. It is in use through a number of Franchised Operations and larger companies.

A lot of people made assumptions about it before seeing it in operation.

I have looked at the newer machines being launched and there is some really good moves forward. The ehing that most people will confuse with the EMV is that it IS a stand alone extraction machine. If all you wanted to use it for was extraction, it would have no problem. The benefit of being a joint extraction/Texatherm unit adds to its benefits. i.e. not carrying two sets of equipment to a premises.

Ia dont have the texatherm any more anyway.

Def some nice new machines coming on the market and there is an american guy on another british forum who is posting his set up and was saying over there they are going back to electric  machines but with burners

So guess maybe with fuel so high they are finding ways around it as he also said the work is not as forthcoming and people are doing there second clean themselves rather than have him.

Id say if your customers have a noticed such a difference in the clean because you have a new portable your last portable must have been broken or your cleaning is lacking.

More power cleans quicker not really better esp with portables.

Most of us when we get a "new" machine say its the best thing since sliced bread - after all we would wouldnt we, we just paid a lot of money for it.

I used to get good cleans from my Numatic but boy did I work hard for it!

With todays modern fluids life has to have simpler so you should get a good clean from a portable, but as Mark says - more power and you should be able to to achieve a better clean far quicker - then move onto another job or have more time for other things.

I'd disagree with those statements.

The EMV allows you to carry out a single pass of the wand cleaning. The idea of higher volume & lower pressure means that you can achieve a higher water lift without oxygen/air. I have noticed the difference on heavily soiled carpets. Previously the areas required 2-3 passes to achieve the results I can get now with 1

The machine is only the means of extracting, as Joe says chemical advances mean you should achieve far better "loosening". The biggest asset to the machine is HOW it achieves this. Your understanding is based upon the principle the higher the pressure the better the clean
