what do you guys do in a "no cold calling zone", do you just pop a flier through the letterbox, or risk upsetting the locals?

We've got areas round here that're no cold calling zones.

Personally, I wouldn't; just leaflet them; these areas in the past have normally been plagued with salesmen (I used to live in one) and at least once-a-week someone would call trying to sell double glazing/conservatories/cleaning products/patio/drive cleaning.

It used to wind me up!

You: Look; here is a copy of the ruling that is on the statute books (hands copy of Simon Knight's post above)

HH: (Starts to read) Umm! Errr ....

Don't bet on that one, I sent a group of canvassers out and the police where there within 25 mins of them starting, I did get a couple of hundred quids worth of work so all was not wasted  , also had local window cleaners not to happy, but that was because some guy was collecting there money..
