Chris , its a right mess to clean up pressure washing and its taxing on the body after prolonged periods of time ( my mate is big into pressure washing )

Carpet cleaning is a pleasure with no mess to clean after unless ur crap at it ??

 ;D ;D ;D :o ;D

I do carpets and pressure washing and cleaning carpets is definitely easier on the body than the pw.
I am taking someone on to do the pw and going to do the carpets and leather myself... the money I'll save in osteopath charges will almost pay for the staff!!!!

Looks like an OK machine Shaun.

The Honda one is twice the price. You are paying for reliability.

Pressure washing is much more physically demanding, especially on the bigger jobs. Carpet cleaning can get a sweat going but this is more to working in houses where heating is on. It is mucky too and you are reliant on the dodgy UK weather for re-sanding / sealing.

Honda engine is in my opinion best but Lombardi also supposed to be good. For me though honda every time. With proper PW you will also need a reservoir tank as they draw too much for mains to keep up.

Whirlaway excellent but a lance always required too. Turbo nozzle essential for really bad jobs.

Back to original post; looks good on paper but I would bet pound to a penny that this is sub-standard kit that will not take the battering. A good clue when looking around is that if the engine and pump are not named in the ad it's best to steer clear. Honda sells itself by reputation, as does interpump.

Ian

Was going to say prob better to have a water bowser to have a full prof set up as with the water pressure if you have a large machine pumping 15 litres a min the tap wont keep up ???

I did have a go last yr and the muck went all over onto the windows upvc door plants etc ::)

The reservoir I use is a converted wheelie bin  :)

As for the mess this is par for the course.

I cover as much as possible with tarpaulin's, including inside garage doors (to prevent run-in), over fences, flower beds, very heavy plant-pots. etc.

Windows, doors, garage doors, fascia boards etc always get hosed down frequently during the wash (either via the pressure washer turned right down or with a regular hose). Once clean is completed I then clean all windows, doors etc thoroughly.

The Whirlaway Shaun mentioned in an earlier post will reduce splashes but it is rare that a job comes along where the lance can be left on the van. Whirlaway link below: -

A good post ian as it takes more prep than just turning up and blasting away ::)

I treated myself to a cheap and nasty petrol PW and it's good for my own uses (car, paths, patio, behind our kid's ears ;D).... Would never even consider doing a job with it though, it's probably equivalent to a vax.... or "EVEN" worse, a RD ;D ;D ;D
