Did a first clean 2 weeks ago but had a problem as was cleaning the upstairs window and the cement block in the corner of the window fell out. It must of been really loose as it's impossible to knock it out with the brush. However i'm wfp so don't carry ladders so left it.
They haven't sent cheque so should i just forget about it and don't go back? Or phone and ask why they haven't sent cheque and deny it was me and it must of been the wind.

always best to own up to any damage,at the end of the day they know its you,when your honest they tend to overlook it

Best to own up mate and if you can repair the damage - they will thank you for it...

But if it was a few weeks ago then you probably would be better to go round as usual and pretend you know nothing and wait and see if they say something because if you go back now and say something you'll look a bit guilty! And then offer to repair...

Yep, that's how I would handle it, had the same thing happen to us. As I put the ladder up the metal sill came away from the old stone sill and nearly hit the guy below me. The custy was out and I forgot to mention it when collecting later. The custy asked me about it so I fessed up and said I am insured, he said "no probs, leave it"

I would wait and see mate.

Joking aside: 2 weeks? I'm a real stickler for getting paid but even I allow 3 weeks.

That little 2" x 1" square of cement from the side of the window frame has NOTHING to do with the fact that the customer hasn't paid for their window-cleaning service. They didn't know it was there anyway.

They havent paid you because they either: a) dont care, b) forgot, c) didnt know youve been, d) are away, e) dont care, f) too many other things on their mind to worry about, afterall you are only the window cleaner, g) dont care, h) forgot and dont care.

Absolutely right on the money! If a concrete render plug comes out or my hose pulls the coping stone off the garden wall or if a slotvent falls out or off then it's the custies' lack of maintenance that is to blame.

Maybe, just maybe if they see me reverse into their fishpond and take out their prize Koi carp and I can't blame it on the plastic heron then I might accept a PLI claim against me ...
