Glides are definately user friendly. Couldn't work without one these days.
Is vacuum perfromance hindered? Some will say yes some will say no. For me, I'm positive that I get a better dry. The fitting of the glide does create a hindrance to the cfm's, but it also then allows a vac motor to be kept "in it's sweet spot" where it works best, and also increases the velocity of the air. When the wand/glide comes into contact with the carpet, the dynamics change enormously, and this is where the glide performs to it's strengths. When not in contact with the carpet, the glide is just an hindrance as I've already stated, but we don't rinse carpets with the wand flapping about in the air

There seems to be a universal opinion that Greenglides are the only ones worth having. From my limited experience of other brands, I'd agree.
BTW somebody told me the other day that Shaun Ashmore was the first person in the UK, or was it Europe, to use a glide. Can anyone confirm that this is true?
