Well if its a one off, as in yyou wont need the machine(s) again then yes Hire them

We did hire years ago! STOPPED IT!

It does not work out at all. Just as an example a carpet machine say from HSS is around the £48.00 then you have chemicals. Now work out a price per room. Its around £20.00 per room. That is just a ball park figure, some are more some are cheaper.

So from that you have to do 2 rooms and a hall way just to get your hire costs. Not including chemicals.

Think of the time it takes, Labour as well. Then you have to get the machine and take back to the shop thats petrol, time, labour.

All this equalled to No point!

If you cant afford a new machine, there are plenty of placing offering good recons. By this I dont mean just been cleaned! Like some companies offer. They also should provide you with a warranty. You will be amazed at the amounts you save. We purchase mainly recons. Never had any trouble. We also purchased New and had hassle.

I thought A3 Machines were more rotary's and scrubber dryers?

If this is the company based near Market Drayton (in the middle of nowhere) then I would agree they are a good company and you can certainly trust them enough to buy from.

Onto your original post; hiring as an emergency is I suppose OK but as you are unlikely to have an emergency with carpet cleaning for a customer then I would say either buy or steer clear. Buying used is fine and there are plenty of good machines out there (often on here). I would however only buy used from a recommended or trusted source.
