RESIN CHANGE - How Often
« on: April 11, 2009, 06:30:50 pm »
Hi got two vans that work 5 days per week 7 -4 how often should the resin be changed approx.
We are in a soft water area.
Change filters every month
Had a few complaints but none more than normal now the sun is out.
Normally on first cleans.
Is there a set timescale for resin to be changed.
Much appreciated
Robbie

when your water TDS rises above what you find acceptable, for some its 000 for others its 010

Why do you need filters if you're in a soft water area, why change them every month :-\

Thanks matt.
Slash- When we bought the systems they were already with the system.
Are you saying I dont need the filters or they do not need changing as often.
They tend to go a browny colour after a month of use so change them as they are only cheap.
Thanks
Robbie

If you're in a soft water area depending on your TDS you only need DI to bring your TDS down to 0.00,if your changing resin so often you need to look into better quality resin,I'm in a hard water area where my TDS from tap is 260 and through my RO brings it down to 0.10 and the resin brings it down to 0.00,change the resin every six weeks,it's only a 10 inch vessel and am getting through 500 litres a day of purified water,I think your resin quality is to blame. :-\,if you have a RO the filters might need changing after 6 months but not every month, like I say check your resin,I often had dodgy stuff!
