Very good day, and a very good night on the sunday :)

For carpet cleaners it was better than the cleaning show, and will grow next year i
would think.

Good talks, demos and a few new machines thrown in too.

Charity auction raised over 2k for macmillan trust.

Also witnessed a yorkshire man parting with wedge of cash, after fidgeting around in the back of a van with another man  :o

I whent to the cleaning show at the nec and there where more exhibitors and more machines and chemicals to see at the ccdo and just ordered the chemspec flexi 5 off john kelly after having a good play with one at the ccdo .

Will report on exactly what I think of it in a few weeks when I get it for anybody interested.

It did look good, I had a go with it and thought it moved around very easily, make a fantastic pile lifter too.

Nice to meet you Andy, why don't you speed talk in a high pitched voice like Billy?

I thought there was a technical issue with the Flexi 5. Has this been sorted?

I ask as I was seriously considering buying one.

I am sure that the same problem has lead to Solutions UK withdrawing their equivalent machine from sale.

Quote from John Bolton: -

"Despite a protracted development period, we became aware of certain intrinsic weaknesses with the machine and took the decision to withdraw it from sale until the problems were resolved.

Subsequently the manufacturers decided to withdraw the machine from market and none are currently being imported under any brand name".

There was no issue with the machine apart from the fact Solutions could not get them another example of Solutions misleading people :o

I do hope thats the truth steve as i would not think john Bolton is up to lieing .And would hate to see any Flexi 5 break down and not be covered in the future I looked at this machine four or five years ago at a show and the sale's man said then they were having a small problem with them Also that they were being made in china as far as i can remember Des

Des

Chemspec would not put their name to a machine with a built in flaw without fully testing them first. Its like everything Solution sold was always the best until it was no longer available to them to sell also don't forget JB was part of Solution in some sort of capacity so he was probably going off what he was told.

Hope they are ok I am just waiting for a new batch coming in to chemspec from abroad , dont want to pay 2 grand for something that f**ks up after a few months :o

Anyway I tend to agree with steve gunn dont think chemspec would sell something and have there reps demoing faulty goods and jk wouldnt endorse something he thought was faulty thats good enough for me.

I was talking to a Flexi 5 buyer at the NEC who told me that there had been a problem with the Flexi 5 family and he knowingly bought one expecting a breakdown anytime, but it hadn't happend upto that point. He also told me that the component in question will be retro fitted when available.

The problem doesn't stop the machine, it's just a little inconvenient. I can't remember exactly what the problem was as my memory is going as I get even older :'( but it may be something to do with a cam or a micro switch ???

This all suggests to me that no one should have concerns about the back up support with these machines, regardless of who supplies them.

Safe and happy cleaning :)
