I was supposed to get a demo they rang to say the company doing the demo would be in touch but never heard from them.The system is based on the dry fusion system but my main concern was the fact dry fusion has a proven record thermadry is a new system and it is a victor rotary with a heater on in.Nobby from the forum is the man to speak to he has been using it for a few months now.

I have a victor machine, wonder if it could be modified with the heater etc? will have to ask craftex next time i speak with them.

I've never understood how sticking a hairdryer on top of a rotory helps it clean better : :

A better option would be to connect a steam generator ( Like  a Ospray or Polti) so it drags behind the rotory injecting a lot of wet steam into the pad or brush this would transfer more heat onto the carpet.

Requested and received promptly a machine catalogue from Craftex last week. No sign of this Thermo Dry machine anywhere. I'm confused.

I've been using the Therma Dry machine since November last year, it's agreat system, I don't use anything else.  Yes put simply it is a Victor rotary with a high powered heater (no not a hairdryer!), Dry Fusion is a Columbus Thermomachine (rotary with a heater!).

The reason why the heater is so important is quite simple, heat assists in nearly all cleaning systems, imagine HWE with cold water.  The second reason for heat is that it dries the carpet quickly, Therma Dry or Dry Fusion without heat is bonnet buffing (almost).  I think that the heat also may assist in curing the protector also.  In short the heat used in these systems is vital to achieve the excellent results that I am currently achieving.

I used Dry Fusion for three years and although the two systems are very similar I prefer Therma Dry for several reasons.  The machine is much lighter and versatile and it folds up to take up less room in the van.  Its slower speed and lighter weight means I can clean Flotex and it doesn't throw debris up the skirting boards and splash liquid over adjoining hard floors.
The Therma Dry machine also comes with a shampoo brush which agitates the prespray instead of using a hand brush and it's much more effective.  It also comes with a hard floor drive board if your into stripping polished floors. 

The machine is quite a bit quieter than Dry Fusion although that may be because my Dry Fusion machine was getting old and knackered but Thermadry is a better built machine (based on a Victor) in my opinion.

Therma Dry was a lot cheaper than Dry Fusion and apart from all the above I like dealing with honest up front people I can trust.  I've dealt with Craftex for 20 years and use them for everything I can, which is nearly everything I use.

I used the craftex catalyst last night for the first time, excellent results. These were used with a dry fusion machine so cannot comment on the difference of the machines, however, I can certainly comment on the different levels of customer service of which Craftex are the clear leaders.
