Pingu

This is in your pics

Sorry to say this but you have gone on the roof without securing the ladder

You should have put a ladder stability devise on the ladder top or bottom(WAHR 05)

Also how did you get the pole up the ladder when you should have 3 points of contact with ladder at all times going up and down

Good pics

Where in Dutch legislation did you find those facts... ;)

All the things you mention are there if you care to looky look, the pole and hose were airlifted to me via a chinook and line. The ladder is there purely for artistic purposes and I was dropped onto the roof by said Chinook. ;D ;D ;D ;D

So Bryan, Just out of curiosity suppose the ladder is secured and has a stability devise (WAHR 05) How would you then go about getting your pole up the ladder whilst maintaining 3 points of contact?.  :-*

By the way nice bit of cleaning there pingu! I hope it paid well. :)

good of you to share the pics pingu  :)

we have the " you should do it like this " police on here now

3 points of contact whilst climbing the ladder, You should have put a ladder stability devise on the ladder top or bottom(WAHR 05)  ::) ::)

lets not go down that route, i am sure pingu knew the risks of climbing a ladder whilst holding a pole

i await the " H & S " is important for us all, and it will upkeep the image of the new window cleaners of the country, type of posts

Pingu might of extended his pole up to the roof height then climbed the ladder (maintaining 3 points of contact at all times of course) then when he is on the roof he could grab his pole and started work.... :)

Anyway Pingu are those pics some kind of "spot the difference" pics?????? ;D ;D ;D

He would have needed to be at least 1 metre away from an unprotected roof ledge, in order to pull up the pole, ideally Pingu should of insisted that the building owner spent a couple of thousand on a latchway system before he was prepared to risk life and limb cleaning the skylights.... ;D  ;D

And meanwhile back in the real world, all that was needed was an element of common sense and keeping your eyes open.
But we're not allowed to do that anymore are we. Now we have to fill in a ten page document, then contact the emergency services that you will be climbing a ladder and there might be a less than 1% chance an accident might happen, so have the ambulance ready with a crash team of doctors and nurses at the ready incase you fall 10 foot. 8) And don't forget to have the phone number to hand for those American style 'it's always someone elses fault solicitors' who will find someone other than yourself to blame.
