I am looking to upgrade my 300gpd system to a 4040 R.O. can anyone advise me before I start, which would be the best mebrane for the Job? Im on a tight budget
I need to instal the R.O. into my van but realise that in our area the water pressure can be low 30-40 psi. I feel sure that I need a booster pump can anyone tell if there is a 12v booster pump that will provide enough prssure with a good flow rate? What are you using? Do I need one?
Is the 40" R.O. membrane from RO-Man up to it?

I have a Ro-man 4040 but it has a 24/7 rated 240v pump on it, If I don't run the pump it slows down my production by about half tds seems to stay the same though and that's with a similar inlet pressure to yours, I know there are membranes that are suited to low pressure.

As to whether you need a pump really depends how fast you need to fill up or how much water you need. I have a 650ltr tank and if I had a driveway or an ibc holding tank then I wouldn't bother with the pump I could finish work and fill up again easily before I hit the sack in the eve.

Does the booster pump cost much to run? Ro-man describe it as industrial, it sounds a little hefty?

I've never really looked at the cost of running it mines only on for about a hour a day, it says 0.75kw on the pump. they do tend to be slightly noisy though. pump at bottom right of Ro.

Im currently upgrading my 350gpd system to a 4040 system and have been told that the 4040 system requires a industrial booster pump which wil cost £500 to be installed does anyone has experience with this one used with a 4040 CBM240E 1" Multi Stage Electronic Booster Pump it seems a lot cheaper ?

 The one in the pic was around £200, I think gardiners supplied it, cant remember now.

you dont need a booster pump if you have low pressure, the time you do will be if your running multiple vans and you have a large static system as we do, then you need to supply say 4000lts a day. if you not at that stage what you need is to buy the right membrane for you 4040 housing and that is the HF5 from gaps water.
