is this a standard fitment or are there a few differnet? Just went to screw up to the tap and my fitment would not fit. Its quite wide.

They can be one of 3 common ones but also some odd ones - if I have'nt got the right one I use the rubber adaptor with the hose clip

the 3 most common being small thread, larger thread and the round end? I have seen a universial fitting but not sure how good that will be.

1/2" bsp, 3/4 bsp, and inch. The inch is not usually found at houses and a hoseloc adaptor comes with the right sizes for most houses.
