on the back of the relay there are different numbers and you are supposed to wire the correct wires in the right place.(i think)

Why would you want a split relay ?

Just wire into the van battery.

They simple enough, i did one years ago, theres an earth, a wire to +, one to alternator then a wire to the other battery.

It looks hard but it aint really...although you could just put 2 batteries in circuit....or even as dave said run it off van battery

wired straight to vehicle battery and it would kill it if I didn't leave it running, which just isn't safe.

when i first got it fitted it did ok when i was doing short and un regular days but then it started to die so i had to run engine every couple of hours.

i ended up doinga split relay, then got brodex to sort out a flow controller and pump and they wired to vehicle battery and again same problem ???

I have run twin set ups on 3 vans for a couple of years with no problems at all.

just wire straight into your van battery.
