Product tips

Hi All

just changed to a product that is widely available, cheap and works fantastic on all surfaces.

Biological Washing Liquid (Persil, Ariel etc)

Found out about using it from my Trauma course. Have used it now on 3 minging kitchen on cupboards, hobs, greasy extractor fans, worktops, tiles etc and it is as good as using a pro degreaser and much cheaper. I usually put water into a 500ml trigger spray, add the liquid (1/4 of a cap full) and start spraying. As it is Biological it will break down the grease with enzymes, brilliant.

Another tip for cleaning tiled or laminate floors. get a soft broom and tie a terry towel to the brush end and use it the same way you do a mop put without the need for a bucket, just use a trigger spray to wet the floor and start wiping. doesn't leave any bits behind, gives a even clean with no streaks.

Thanks to Aggie & Kim for this one:

White Vinegar & Bicarbonate (baking powder) for clearing smelly or blocked plug holes. Pour some powder into the plug hole, pour in some vinegar and it starts to froth straight away, leave for 10-15 mins then pour down some hot water, works a treat and have used it twice this week. Had a stinking bathroom, once treated smell had disappeared.

Regards

Be careful if you are using a shops own brand products that you can get hold of the COSHH data sheets for them!

They have to make that avaliable to anyone who requests it. I have had more luck getting this information on supermarket products than I ever did on some of the branded stock.
