just wondering if theyre worthwile, my old fella can sort me out with one for £2 a month plus 7p  a min for calls. do you think that there perceived as professional for a small company or customers get confused as theyre is no area code and think you may not be local or too big and costly? thanks

The problem with 0800 numbers is that it is only free to call if you call from a landline - If someone wants to call you from their mobile then it will cost them.

I think you're better off with a normal landline number.

I use a local geographic number from Sipgate (www.sipgate.co.uk).

The number fowards onto my 2nd mobile which is just used for incoming business calls. Works well for me.

In my humble opinion, although free (from a landline), I don't think 0800 numbers look user friendly or show your geographical location.

If a potential customer is too tight to phone your normal landline or mobile number, are they the sort of customer you want in the first place?
