experience

many years ago i was doing labour work,general cleaning i enjoyed it,,,,,now i am being made redundant in my current job,,,,which is not a cleaning job,
i am thinking of going back to cleaning,,but dont know where to start ,,i want to do carpet cleaning oven cleaning just to start of with,,does any body out there know a good place to pick up some skills or experience,,would it be a good start to go on a traing course?

Prochem do training courses on Carpet Cleaning, Upholstery Cleaning, Hard Floor Cleaning have a look at their website I think that would be a good starting point, then they can also advise on chemicals, machinery to use/buy.

You would find Altec's hands on courses useful and if you time it right they have plenty of special offers on. They also run the more advanced IICRC courses. I would recommend both.

The other option but much more expensive is the NCCA Carpet and Upholstery Cleaning Course. A very good course but might be best to do the hands on first. Also recommended.

Paul Pearce runs all of the above and I doubt you will find a nicer, more switched on trainer in this field.

I haven't been on the Prochem course but have dealt with Linda Sinet who is their Training Academy Development Manager. From my experience she is very knowledgeable and extremely helpful. Here is Linda's email for course queries:
