Ok guys...have got my new bits and pieces for my 4040 system ...now I have around 14 tds from the membrane....I have a 13l DI vessel ...


How often do you find you need to change your resin....

I use around 320 litres per day on average...

I know this is vague but just trying to get a handle on using resin's in large containers.

i use di only,tds is 70 out of tap,i get about 10,000 litres out of a 25l bag of resin.

mine tds is about the same, I produce approx 6-7000L per week and change a 20" DI canister (2L) about once a fortnight.
Get your calculator out.

It should last you 58 days of work per resin canister.

It all depends what the spec of the resin, current brands being sold range from 4000l - 7000l at 100pm for 25l bag.

As Alex says it can range from 58 - 72 days of work using approx 300 l per day.

A good average calculation formula is as follows:

500,000 / the tds of the water = approximately how many litres you'll get from a 25 litre sack of resin. Divide the figure by 25 and times it by thye size of your canister to get your desired litre amount.

There are resins that will perform better than this, but it is a good starting point. Also if you use twin canisters you will extend this figure greatly. For the resin we sell I tend to use a starting figure of about 600,000 - 650,000.
